El Maui and Sons Arica Pro
Tour, torneo del tour mundial de olas muy pesadas que se realiza año tras año en El Gringo de Arica, será a partir de 2017 un QS de 3.000 puntos, según el gerente de Marketing del patrocinador principal del torneo, Michael Stewart.
Con casi 10 años de historia siendo un evento del QS de baja puntuación, el torneo ingresará ahora en la mira no solo de los mejores tube riders del planeta, sino también en aquellos del top 100 que buscan puntos serios para ingresar al CT. El que quiera los 3.000 puntos de este torneo va a tener que, además de tener talento, ser lo suficientemente valiente como para encarar una de las olas más pesadas del planeta tierra.
